Would any monitor work on the Dell Studio XPS 8000?

I wanna get Dell Studio XPS 8000 but i have a 3 year old monitor. it is a flat screen Dell monitor. I dont wanna buy a new one because its still good but, i need to know would it work on this model.

most monitors will work with most systems (99% of the time)
if they both have vga then 1 cable required
if 1 has a dvi then an adaptor is needed
if both have dvd then 1 cable required
